Help us understand how to improve support for nicotine cessation
Trial ends: 15 December 2024
Overcome is running a clinical trial to assess the effectiveness of a remotely delivered Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing (CBT/MI) intervention for people who want to stop using nicotine. Here’s how you can get involved.
Who are we?
Overcome is a UK registered charity (No. 1191308). Our mission is to cost-effectively improve human happiness by providing free therapy across the globe.
What is the trial?
This study aims to evaluate a specialised program designed to help people quit nicotine using a blend of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Motivational Interviewing techniques. Participants will receive support remotely, making it easier to engage from home or any convenient location.
Who can take part?
We’re looking for individuals who want to quit nicotine use and are interested in participating in a FREE structured, remotely delivered program. Participants must be aged 18+ and meet specific eligibility criteria, which will be assessed prior to enrolment.
What is the time commitment?
We will provide one session a week for six weeks, with each session taking around 45 minutes. Scheduling is flexible and you choose a time and day that works best for you. In addition to this we will ask you to complete a short questionnaire before the first session, and another afterwards. You will also be invited to a 30 minute feedback interview.
How can I take part?
Participants will be recruited from across the globe, and the program is delivered entirely online. You’ll be guided through the eligibility process and supported with all necessary information if you choose to participate.
Remuneration
The program is FREE to enter and will pay £10 for each person that completes the short questionnaires throughout and a final feedback interview.
