Coating, Lacquer or Varnish to help?

My wife has just had an allergy test with the UK NHS which says she's allergic to rubber, chrome surfaces and nickel. That includes a lot of surfaces in the average property and ours is no exception. Does anyone know of a coating, Lacquer, Varnish, or other hypoallergenic surface treatment that we can spray or paint on please? The alternatives of wearing gloves always around the house, or removing/replacing the offending surfaces is too terrible to contemplate!
