Blood in stool

Firstly thank you for taking the time out to read.

I had a bad pain in my stomach yesterday which lasted about 5 minutes. I went to the toilet and upon wiping noticed blood on the tissue, I carried on going to the toilet (diarrhea) and noticed blood mixed in with the stool

This led me to freak out, I immediately rang 111 and they advised me to go in to ER and get checked.

I had my blood pressure and blood tests done and after a 3 hour wait I was told everything was fine with them and it could have been something I ate or anything. I've had a bit more diarrhea last night and this morning and there are still spots of blood in the stool.

My Dr told me to forget about it and it will resolve itself he said it could be an infection of something (forgot what he said) but I'm having a few pains again today (nothing severe just the odd shooting pain reminding me it's there) I now feel like I need to go to toilet but when I do it's constipation.

Any advice please?
