Your experience with ointments?
Hello everyone, I would like to ask you some questions about the treatment of eczema in children and adolescents.
From my own experience, I have used and been prescribed dozens of different ointments and only one worked.
Is this also your experience or was it an instant success?
Thx in advance!

Re: Your experience with ointments?
I know this thread is a couple years old but I just joined & noticed no one has replied so I'll post about my experience.
I've had sever eczema as a kid & I seen at least a few dermatologists & allergists who put me on lots of different ointments, creams, & lotions but none of them majorly helped. However I probably did not give them a fair enough chance because I have skin sensory issues & my parents had to majorly fight with me to use that stuff; but I probably would have relented if I had a quick noticeable improvement. I also missed two weeks of elementary school once because a dermatologist recommended I have wet towels wrapped around me for a couple weeks. That did not really help either but at least I got to miss school & watch TV in bed all day The only treatments that ever majorly helped my skin was steroid shots & pills like Cortisone & Prednisone a couple times a year to reduce flareups. That was during the 80s & 90s though so perhaps treatments would have been better if I was a kid today
