Re: Tea Tree Oil
Lavender is also brilliant for inflammation. I use it on an spots I get. (I still get them now and again even though I am over 60).It is also great for burns. I wish I'd known about it years ago when I had severe acne.

Re: Acne Treatments Making Skin Worse
I started sticking to a simple soap to cleanse my skin. This one brand which I don't think I'm allowed to say is probably the best soap I've tried. It initially dried out my spots and I thought it was making it worse but then over a few weeks I noticed a difference in my skin. It just started with ...

Re: essential oils and acne
I use lavender oil on any spot I get now. I am clear of acne not (I'm in my 60s) but get the odd spot. I put lavender oil on it and it soon goes. I have tried using other oils on my face with a carrier oil but it seems to cause breakouts. Lavender oil is also fantastic for treating burns and helping...

Re: Natural Remedies for Insomnia (hard to sleep)
I have tried all these remedies. I have ME and nothing seems to work. Melatonin made my depression worse and Valerian affects my stomach. I cant take prescribed medication as it exacerbates my symptoms. I do use Lavendar oil as I love the smell but doesnt seem to make much difference to my sleep.

Re: Please Help - trying to clear acne
Hi Johnsampson, I really feel for you. I went through the same for years. The only thing that worked for me was Roaccutane. I know its had a bad press regarding depression and suicidal thoughts but I was fine on it even though I had struggled with depression for years. I had to go on it again a few ...

Re: Trying to remove post-acne scars
Hi fixmyface, I suffered with acne for years and have been left with some red scars but mine are mainly the rolling scars which are extremely difficult to remove. I have learnt an awful lot over the years. I think saliycilic acid is very good. I use it every day. I also use over-the-counter retinol ...

Skin tags
I am in my 60s. I have some small skin tags on my neck some of which I had removed a few years ago. The skin on my neck is quite bumpy. Some of them look like skin tags developing under the skin. This has extended to my chest too. I take good care of my skin making sure I exfoliate gently, moisturise...

Re: Acne Treatments Making Skin Worse
I really regret staying on antibiotics for a few years which didnt help my acne at all but gave me digestive problems. If I had my time over again I would stop the antibiotics and concentrate on using gentle skin products and addressing my general health. Unfortunately back in the 70s we didnt have ...

Re: acne struggle
I agree with misscandygirl. When I think back to how I used to treat my skin !!! Soap, harsh scrubs, cleansing brushes, sun lamps!! Please be kind to your skin. It's already inflamed so gentle is the way to go. Just use gentle cleansers. Salycylic acid is very good for acne prone skin too. Try and b...

Re: making myself get acne?? hear me out please
I can completely emphasise with you. I had severe acne in my teens and 20s. It cleared up when I got pregnant and then reappeared in my 30s. That was when I went on Roaccutane. My skin cleared only for it to return with the menopause. I had another shot at Roaccutane and luckily it did the trick. I ...
