Emotional Overeating Support Group Project Officer

Rachel Morris is a project officer for Beat, the UK’s eating disorder charity. She currently manages the Emotional Overeating Support Groups project. Rachel is responsible for the recruitment and remote management of volunteers who support people with emotional overeating problems such as binge eating or compulsive overeating.

The peer support groups are funded by the Department of Health and cover the East and West Midlands and East Anglia.

Rachel started working for Beat in 2013 and came from a background within a children’s charity working with vulnerable children and adults from a deprived area. Her studies include Psychology and Health and Social Care.

Rachel networks with mental health and weight management services across the UK to evaluate the service Beat provides and ensure the right people are being reached. Beat play a part in the development and delivery of their own training to volunteers and professionals.
