Mr. Rajesh Nair (Raj) is a Consultant Urological Surgeon with a special interest in open, laparoscopic and robotic surgery with a particular focus in uro-oncology and reconstruction (bladder, kidney and prostate cancer).

He not only qualified from University College London Medical School but completed his post-graduate research there, evaluating the racial disparities in prostate cancer outcome in London. Raj completed his higher specialist training on the South Thames London Deanery rotation where he was awarded the FRCS (Urol.) and FEBU. He has completed advanced fellowship training in robotics, uro-oncology and reconstruction at St. George’s Hospital, Guy’s Hospital, London and the Royal Melbourne Hospital and Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia.

Raj is a specialist in uro-oncology and reconstruction and has expertise in the investigation and treatment of non-muscle and muscle invasive bladder cancer, open and minimally invasive kidney and prostate cancer surgery.

He is lead for the Upper Tract Urothelial Cancer Programme and is currently involved in the bladder preservation, robotic cystectomy and partial nephrectomy programme at Guy’s Hospital. His current research interests are in the field of upper tract urothelial carcinoma, imaging techniques in bladder cancer diagnostics and improving outcomes following radical cystectomy.

Raj is a member of the British Association of Urological Surgeons (BAUS), European Association of Urology (EAU) and The Royal College of Surgeons of England (RCSEng).
