Dr Derrick Phillips
Dr Derrick Phillips is a consultant dermatologist at OneWelbeck Skin Health & Allergy and Skin55. He obtained his medical degree from University College London Medical School in 2011, graduating with a double merit and achieving First-class honours in the Medical Physics and Bioengineering BSc. Dr Phillips completed his general medical training, gaining experience at prestigious hospitals in London, Singapore and New South Wales, Australia, before embarking on specialist dermatology training in Liverpool.
Dr Phillips worked in the National Health Service for 12 years and was a consultant at the world-renowned Imperial College Healthcare NHS Trust, where he was the clinical lead for psoriasis, overseeing the prestigious biologics clinic. He also held an honorary appointment at Imperial College London as a clinical teacher.
He has a keen interest in clinical research and has been the principal investigator for multiple high-profile clinical trials, including the SAFA study looking at the efficacy of Spironolactone in treating adult female acne.
His career has been decorated by accolades including the British Association of Dermatologists 2022 Green Prize for his work on sustainability. He is widely published in scientific literature and is a chapter author in the third edition of ‘The Handbook of Systemic Drug Treatment in Dermatology’.
Dr Phillips is regularly featured in print and online media and has provided expert opinions on TV and radio.
